What’s Involved?
Whether you're seeking relief from physical pain, navigating a complex diagnosis, experiencing emotional stress, or supporting your child's health naturally – you've found a place that offers holistic, all-round care. Chinese Medicine is a comprehensive healthcare system that has been practised for over 3,000 years. It maps out 74 channels within the body, which regulate and protect the function of our internal organs – the very systems that keep us alive! Various techniques can be used to regulate these channels, helping to restore balance, expel disease, and guide you back to full health.
Each session begins with a friendly conversation about your health concerns and relevant medical history, followed by palpation, and pulse and tongue diagnosis. From this, a personalised treatment plan will be created to best support you. This may include acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion, gua sha, and/or lifestyle guidance.

Classical acupuncture is an ancient, highly refined, and comprehensive system of medicine capable of addressing a wide range of ailments. With a scope that extends far beyond pain relief, acupuncture integrates the health of the whole individual, making it effective for acute, chronic and complex health issues alike.
Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin, sterile single-use needles into various points along the channel systems to help regulate the physiological functioning of the body.
For children, we have plenty of gentle no-needle techniques such as press seeds, stickers, Shonishin and acupressure to suit all needs. Click here to read more about what is involved in our children’s sessions.

Cups can be placed on the skin with a gentle suction (commonly on the back or neck muscles), to offer several health benefits. Including promoting blood flow, relieving muscle tension, and supporting the detoxification of the body.
Cupping increases the blood flow to tight or sore areas. This increased blood flow can help to reduce inflammation, enhance oxygen delivery, and speed up healing - as well as relieving pain!
The suction created also stimulates the lymphatic system, helping the body to naturally detoxify by moving lymphatic fluid and encouraging the release of toxins and cellular waste.
Many people feel deeply relaxed during and after a session as cupping activates the parasympathetic nervous system (the “rest and digest” response), promoting relaxation and reducing stress.

Moxibustion, or “moxa,” is a traditional technique used in acupuncture that involves burning the herb Artemisia vulgaris(mugwort) near specific acupuncture points. The heat and properties of the herb offer several therapeutic benefits such as improving blood circulation and providing a deeply nourishing warmth to the body.
Moxa has traditionally been used to support many health complaints from pain to women’s health, and is most famously known for its use on the small toe to help turn breech babies.
